Bastion Prague
A Forest of Light
At Bastion Florenc in Prague, light takes on an organic character.
Created as a bespoke decorative lighting installation for this striking contemporary building by Penta Real Estate, the piece brings together 70 illuminated crystal rods, transforming the timeless material of Bohemian crystal into an expressive architectural composition.
Each rod is individually enriched with hand-cut surface detailing inspired by the texture of birch bark. The irregular cuts create a tactile, almost natural landscape across the crystal, giving every element its own character. When illuminated, these intricate surfaces capture and refract the light, revealing layers of brilliance, shadow and depth.
The result is reminiscent of a luminous forest translated into crystal — a delicate connection between the organic world and the precision of contemporary architecture.
