Her family worked in a small glassworks in the heart of the mountains. It was pure destiny that she follow in her family’s footsteps and study at the Academy of Glass Design in Bratislava, Slovakia.

On successful completion of the programme, Mirka decided to extend her portfolio, and moved to Kamenicky Senov in the Czech Republic, where she worked as a designer for Preciosa Lighting.

After several successful years, she moved to BOII Lighting – a small studio based in Los Angeles.

For the past few years, Mirka has been working exclusively for BMP Design and has demonstrated her extraordinary knowledge whilst working on a variety of projects. She is not only a lighting designer but also a skilled interior designer, both for private residences and also small hospitality projects.

Hanka Vitkova

Hanka Vitkova was born in a region with a very rich history of glass making.

She was introduced to the world of art at an early age. Her family is made up of glass engravers, wood sculptors and glass designers, and this creative talent has been passed down from generation to generation.

Hanka studied for four years at the Art School for Glassmakers in Kamenicky Senov, focusing on glass painting and Bohemian crystal, and was later awarded a degree from the Technical University of Liberec. From here it was only a small step to the professional world of lights and art glass.

Nature is her main source of inspiration, from which everything derives its meaning, purpose and balance, and which provides such a wonderful range of colours and decorations. Hanka loves the precision and detail found in nature, which together form a perfect unity.

She takes the inspiration from nature, where everything has its meaning, reason and balance, and also gives a great range of decorations and colors. She loves the precision and detail that makes a perfect unity.

Zuzana Kubelková

Zuzana Kubelkova was born in a musical and artistic family. She spent most of her childhood in a paint and glass atelier with her father. From an early age, she was surrounded by art and glass.

She studied at the High School of Applied Arts for Glassmaking in Železný Brod, and later she obtained a degree from the Faculty of Art and Design at The University of J. E. Purkyne in Ústí nad Labem, along with many awards.

She spent one year in a glass design atelier in Budapest where she came into contact with a wide variety of Hungarian glass artists, and glass began to be her main focus in life.

Later she started to work as a freelance designer for various glass companies, whilst continuing to produce her own glass art pieces and experimenting to combine glass and new materials.

Zuzana draws inspiration from her paintings, travels and everyday life, chemical experiments and new materials which clash with glass at first sight. She wants to create truly original works of art – pieces that the world has never seen before.

Sophia Lukacova

is young and talented Slovak designer. The world of  glass was introduced to her in the Design Studio Origos in Slovakia where she was working as an intern.

With guidance of her older sister, she finished her first works. Although Sophia has the artistic career still in front of her, even now her works are visibly full of clear aesthetics inspired in wild nature but also in current fashion styles.

From her works, it shines her youthful energy which bestows to the compositions breathtaking dynamics so characteristic for her great personality.
